Vinton, Virginia. $10 1902 Plain Back. Fr. 633. The First NB. Charter #11911. PMG About Uncirculated 53. Serial Number 1.,Stacks Bowers Galleries is pleased to announce to the collecting world an unprecedented Virginia discovery. This #1 blue seal has never before been owned by a collector or offered for sale previously. It easily becomes the best blue seal known from the state of Virginia. The First National Bank of Vinton opened in 1921 and closed in 1925. During that brief existence it only issued 312 sheets of third charter plain backs. It was also the only bank in town to issue national currency. Your cataloger doesnt recall ever seeing a number one blue seal from any state with such a minuscule output. It is of course no surprise that this note is the first survivor to be documented. It is in lovely condition with a red cashiers signature and no harsh signs of circulation. This will almost surely be the only chance to add this town to your collection. Any price under $30,000 is easily defensible when looking at sales of equally desirable notes from other states.,,
