This $5 plain back turned up in Alabama and was consigned to our sale. Our previous offering was a Fine 15 with a split. The note being auctioned tonight is a problem free 25. The town of Adair had just a single national bank. This is just the second documented survivor. Iowa is the birthplace of national banknote collecting and there is a very strong contingent of collectors chasing Hawkeye notes.
