1906-D Liberty Head Double Eagle. MS-63 (PCGS).,Satiny medium gold surfaces with a sharp strike and full satin to softly frosted luster. An immensely popular issue for mintmarked gold type purposes, the 1906-D is the first Denver Mint double eagle and one of just two in the Liberty Head series. It is markedly scarcer than the 1907-D, although enough examples exist in grades through Choice Mint State, as here, that many collectors are able to own an example of this historically significant issue.,,
