1807/6 Draped Bust Cent. S-272. Rarity-5+. Small 7, Blunt 1. Good-4 (PCGS).,An appealing coin in a well circulated Draped Bust cent that is sure to catch the eye of advanced variety collectors. Dark copper fields are a bit rough in texture, the devices both smoother in appearance and possessed of lighter golden-brown patina. There are few significant marks on either side. The reverse is well centered on the planchet, but the obverse is off center to 11 oclock with no denticulation from 7 to 12 oclock. A later die state with a prominent obverse break from the border through the letter R in LIBERTY that has obliterated the adjacent letters TY. Of the six known die marriages of the 1807 issue, S-272 is by far the rarest, and it corresponds to the 18076/ Small 7, Blunt 1 Guide Book variety. Sure to see spirited bidding among specialists.,From the Lux Family Collection, begun as early as the 1850s.,
