1787 New Jersey Copper. Maris 48-g, W-5275. Rarity-1. Outlined Shield. EF-40 BN (NGC).，Lovely medium brown patina displays swirls of flint gray toward the right borders that are associated with trivial surface scale. The strike is fairly well centered with all design elements on both sides readily evident, although the first digit in the date and the tops of the letters E PL in the reverse motto are faint. Light flan flaws are more pronounced on the obverse, where there are also a few minor marks in the upper right field. As one of the more consistently well produced varieties in the New Jersey copper series, Maris 48-g is a favorite of type collectors and specialists alike. The variety is particularly well known for the distinctive Batman-shaped shield on the reverse.，，
