Most, if not all, 1933-D Oregon Trail Memorial half dollars were struck from an obverse die that was prepared using different hubs, which resulted in tripling along the lower left border. This feature is most pronounced on the letters in the word HALF; tripling is also evident near the right border on some of the letters in the words STATES and AMERICA.
