CAC.,This coin displays a typical pattern of toning for a commemorative half dollar of this type, with the obverse having a blend of antique gold and copper-rose patina. The reverse is even more vividly toned in gold, red, blue and pink. It is highly lustrous with an overall bold strike and expertly preserved surfaces. The second year Columbian Exposition half dollar has an even higher mintage than the 1892, 4,052,105 pieces produced with 1,548,300 coins actually sold. Many of the remaining coins were placed into circulation for face value and others were melted.
