Maryland--Baltimore. HOUCKS / PANACEA / BALTIMORE on an 1822 Capped Bust half dollar. Brunk H-779, HT-141. Host Coin Good.，The countermark dates to 1836 and is attributed to this well known Baltimore, Maryland firm, with at least 90 examples reported on Draped Bust and Capped Bust half dollars of various dates. Affixed in the left obverse field, as typically seen for the variety, the counterstamp for this patent medicine is neatly executed and mostly legible. Evenly toned in charcoal-gray patina, the host coin retains outline definition to all devices save for where the counterstamp caused a bulge on the reverse.，From Steve Haydens Mail Bid Sale #42, lot 477.，
