1799 (ca. 1859) Cogan Series - Birth and Death Medalet. Silver. 32 mm. By Robert Lovett, Jr., for Edward Cogan. Musante GW-244, Baker-136. MS-62 (PCGS).，Semi-reflective surfaces are wholly prooflike in finish with an overlay of richly original steel and pearl-gray iridescence. Sharply defined throughout with only minor handling marks precluding a Choice rating. Struck from dies prepared by Robert Lovett, Jr. for Philadelphia coin dealer Edward Cogan, c.1859. The dies for this type were stolen on December 14, 1859, helping to explain the rarity of examples in numismatic circles. Indeed, according to Cogan himself (1862) only 30 silver impressions were prepared. Clearly the present offering represents a fleeting bidding opportunity for the advanced Washingtoniana enthusiast.，Cardboard 2x2 with attribution notation included.，
